Smart HART Modem Model AZ-1SHM

Azbil’s Smart HART Modem, model AZ-1SHM, is an innovative field service tool featuring various functions to facilitate field work that utilizes HART communication, in addition to the usual HART signal conversion function of a HART modem. With model AZ-1SHM, HART devices can be set up and adjusted more efficiently and safely. It can troubleshoot the cause of a communication problem if one occurs.

Loop Power Checker

• The model AZ-1SHM is equipped with a loop power checker and HART communication checker, allowing quick investigation of the cause of HART communication problems. Settings and adjustments can be made without waiting for the DCS to connect to equipment or for a device to be removed for maintenance.

• The Support Tool (a Windows application) supplied with model AZ-1SHM can display HART communication waveforms and details of HART communication (a protocol monitor), enabling more detailed analysis of the cause of various phenomena.

Wireless connection

• Model AZ-1SHM can connect to a host PC from various companies using USB or Bluetooth. Bluetooth wireless connections allow for safer parameter settings and adjustments in field devices in environments with poor footing, free from communication cable restrictions. Built-in communication diagnostic function with a wireless connection eliminates the need for an oscilloscope or monitoring tool.

Power to the field device

• Model AZ-1SHM can supply power to the field device. Parameters can be checked and set even for a device that is not powered due to construction or maintenance.

Support for Azbil’s SFN (DE) communication

• When used in combination with Azbil’s Field Communication Software, model CFS100, SFN devices can be adjusted and set up.
